Adventures of a latina first generation college student. (Pierson College '15)
I’m so glad I decided to do Cultural Connections. The people I’ve met are the greatest. The sessions, meals, parties, and conversations have all made this week amazing. Connections forged. Success.
My permanent room at Yale is in L-Dub which kinda sucks especially when I see non-L-Dub rooms; in comparison, L-dub looks worse that the 3rd class section in the Titanic. I was pretty upset about that today (borderline resentful towards Pierson), but I think I’ve decided that the people here are totally worth it. Oh, and after taking a self-guided tour today with a bunch of CC Yalies, I also found out that Saybrook has THE comfiest couches and cool board games. I’m buying couches like that when I get my own place.
Can’t wait for Camp Yale but I’m sad to see CC end. I’ll miss you all dearly, especially you TD’ers. :)

My mom learned how to pronounce “Yale” correctly! Now she can stop telling people I’m going to “jail.” #thankgoodness
buy a Mexican flag for my dorm room. I hope my roommate doesn’t mind. That is all.
I finally went college dorm room shopping with my mom at Bed Bath and Beyond today! I did that Pack and Hold thing so I feel as though I wasn’t nearly as productive as I should have been. I also bought a large suitcase. Now I just need to bring myself to start packing! 3 days! AHHHH!

I left swim practice early. I told my coach I had something “college related” that I forgot about and I needed to go home to deal with. I got home ten minutes earlier than I expected and waited. I took a shower to kill some time and try to get my mind off of it.
When I finally got out, changed,…
The routine instructional video was just posted, and I am SO excited!
Party Rock Anthem. Yale 2015. Starting off our college careers on the right foot.
I need to learn how to shuffle!
I’m still waiting for my copy! Darn snail mail. >:(

This is why I love Yale.
This was addressed to my mom. They go on to address the incoming freshmen as “little pricks.” Yale has a sense of humor.
